The map update installed easily and included many important updates for the Austin area that should have been in the 2008.

Had a bit of a problem getting my Garmin Street Pilot 2720 to accept the update initially. Called Garmin Tech Support and found them to be very helpful. I did have to wait on hold for awhile, but the friendly and upbeat Kansas based support tech made several suggestions to get me beyond error messages relating to “communication errors”. The one that did the trick was updating the operating system for the unit (from the Garmin website) before again attempting the update from the disk. I can’t claim improved data accuracy yet because I just did the update, but my feeling is that I’ve come to rely on this unit so heavily I figure it’s worth the cost to insure it’s working off the most accurate information. By the way, Garmin claims the update may take up to 2 hours to complete and I believe it was probably about that long, so be prepared to have your computer tied up for awhile. In my opinion Garmin makes fine products and supports them well, including this update.

I have a Zumo 550 and the Map upload went off without a hitch in slightly less time than estimated. I used my Zumo on vacation this week with good results. Just one trip into the boonies, I think to avoid a traffic signal. I got where I was going but that detour seemed unnecessary.
4 Stars Updated Garmin maps
This is my second map update for my Garmin GPS. When I bought the Garmin, the original maps were very outdated. This most recent one appears to be very up to date and accurate. I am happy with it and have no complaints.
Installation was easy with no glitches. I recommend the product as updated maps are a necessity with all of the road and business changes these days.
